How your résumé is used
Afterglow uses your résumé text to build your career strategy, Worth it? analyses, and related recommendations.
My strategy, Career insights, and Worth it? match your background to curated research. They do not send your résumé to OpenAI or another generative AI provider.
Guided search+ (Pro) may send résumé excerpts to OpenAI for search plans and outreach drafts. See the AI use policy for details.
What we do not do
We never sell your personal information.
We never share your résumé with employers, recruiters, or hiring platforms as part of the service.
We do not use your résumé for targeted advertising.
Storage and deletion
- When you upload a PDF or DOCX, Afterglow extracts text on our servers. The original binary file is not kept as long-term object storage.
- Extracted résumé text and your strategy are stored in your Afterglow account so you can return and regenerate results.
- Open Account & settings and choose Delete my account and data to permanently remove your account, résumé text, strategies, saved jobs, and related records.
