Understand company fit scores

What the score means

Each employer on your Guided search+ list gets a fit score from 0 to 12. Higher scores mean stronger alignment with your search plan, resume, and preferences.

Scores help you compare employers quickly. They are guidance, not a guarantee of an interview or offer.

Six factors (0–2 points each)

1. Role fit — How well the company's typical roles match your target titles and experience.
2. Industry fit — Alignment with sectors you want, and exclusion of industries you asked to avoid.
3. Location and remote — Match to your work mode and acceptable locations.
4. Documentation and headcount signal — Whether the employer shows credible hiring or investment in your function.
5. Timing — Signals that the company may be actively hiring in your lane.
6. Network angle — Whether you have a warm path, mutual connection, or realistic outreach route.

Use scores in your search

1. Select up to five employers to pursue each week. Start with higher scores when deciding where to spend time.
2. Read the research brief beside each company — the score summarizes fit; the brief explains why.
3. Refresh your company list after you update preferences or regenerate your search plan.
4. A lower score on a stretch company is intentional. These are worth exploring, not your first pass.

Scores are generated when you build or refresh your company list. They reflect your active career profile at that moment.
